Please consider giving today.  Any amount you can spare will make a difference.  Your gift is combined with the gifts of others to magnify the power of these contributions.  And if you don’t believe a few dollars here and there helps, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn otherwise.

To contribute, click the orange “Donate Now” button near the top-right corner of these website pages, or go here.  As another option, here’s our newest pledge form for printing and mailing.

Here’s a perfect example of small donations combining to make a big difference.  Mercer Area School District elementary students worked all through the month of November 2011 to create and decorate gingerbread men, in order to raise money for United Way of Mercer County.  For each 25 cent donation, the students posted a gingerbread man in the main hallway of their facility.  Four thousand gingerbread men adorned the school’s main hallway over the 2011 holidays.

These wonderful children presented UWMC with over $1,000 (which included lots of quarters!). UWMC Executive Director Jim Micsky extends his sincere thanks to Mercer Area School Superintendent Dr. William Gathers; Mercer Elementary School Principal Michelle Dietrich; their staff and faculty; and especially to their amazing students, who prove that you’re never too young to help your neighbors in need.

Did you know that your generosity can extend beyond your own lifetime?  As you plan your estate, ask your financial advisor about legacy gifts designated to United Way of Mercer County’s Poverty Reduction initiative.

Remember, 100% of your donation stays right here in our community!
