STEAM CAREER CAMP
The Community Foundation of Western PA and the United Way partnered to spearhead a regional strategy for preparing our youth for 21st century careers through offering a week-long camp offered in three locations: eCenter Entrepreneurial Academy, Thiel College, and Mercer County Career Center. Each location had a focused theme centered on developing STEAM skills and exposing youth to cutting-edge technology and motivational learning experiences. In addition, youth visited local businesses to see how the skills they were learning were utilized by the businesses. Walberg’s, Joy Cone, and Autosoft offered informative workshops and tours to our youth. Through this ground-breaking project, the Community Foundation and United Way have designed an effective strategy to prepare our youth for emerging careers.
